Banking / Currency:

The official currency of India is the Indian Rupee (INR). The paper currency notes come in denominations of INR 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2000. Coins come in denominations of INR 1, 2, 5 and 10. Credit and debit cards are accepted in most shops, hospitals, hotels and restaurants. ATM machines are available everywere.

Banking hours are as follows:

Monday to Saturday : 10.00 to 16.00
2nd & 4th Saturdays and Sunday : Closed

Business hours:
Office Business Hours : 9 am to 6pm (Weekdays) closed during weekends.
The Indian standard time is 5:30 hours ahead of GMT. Indian Time does not operate Daylight Saving.

Daytime temperature in the month of November ranges from 20-25°C. In the night temperatue may drop to about 15°C.

Drinking Water:
It is advised that visitors use bottled drinking water, widely available in almost all the retail stores and restaurants in Delhi.
Healthcare in New Delhi:
New Delhi has a number of public and private health care hospitals.
Hindi is the official language, however English is widely used in day-to-day communication.
Mobile SIM Card:

Most international airports in India have counters where you can buy mobile SIM cards for cellphone. Authorised centres of all major brands are also available in the city from where mobile SIM cards can be procured. To bye a mobile SIM card user will required to produced the following documents:

    • Photocopy of the name page of your passport, a copy of the Indian visa page in your passport, and a passport sized picture as well.
    • Get proof of where you're staying in India.
    • Proof of residency in your home country.

If you don't get a SIM card at the airport, you should be able to get a prepaid SIM card from a local, independent cell phone dealer.

    • MTNL: State owned telecommunications provider.
Electricity Sockets Adapters:
It is advisable to carry Indian type electricity socket adapters.

Support Room:


A support room with internet access, printing and scanning facilities would be provided at the National Museum Institute.


Presentation Equipment:


Session rooms are equipped with projectors and PC computers. Presenters are requested to bring their presentation on a USB key for a hassle free time. All other equipment materials needed for individual presentations must be secured by presenters themselves.


Internet Access:


Wi-Fi will be available at all venues; however, we cannot guarantee signal strength in all the rooms. Delegates are advised to prepare their presentations so that Wi-Fi access is not required.


Shuttle Service:


Shuttle services will be provided between all venues after each session to make mobility easier. Each bus will have its venue/ venue no. on it for easy commuting.
